The color splash effect in Canva is a fun way to add a splash of color to your images/ photos.
Step 1 – Open canva and select Custom size. Enter your desired width and height for the design. I have used Width – 1100px and Height – 1100px.
Click Create new design to start designing with your custom dimensions.
Step 2 – Click on “Elements” from the left-hand menu Elements > Photos and type “Young Woman“.
Step 3 – In the Canva editor, select the photo you want to edit. Select a clear, front-facing image/photo. Now let’s resize the photo.
Step 4 – Go to Share and select Download.
Note: “Gen Portraits” can’t edit the photos from the elements directly. Hence we need to download the needed image/photo and upload them into the app.
Step 5 – Choose your preferred file format (e.g., PNG, JPG, PDF). Here I have downloaded as JPG format. The file will be downloaded to your computer.
Step 6 – I need to add an additional page. Hence hover your cursor between the pages, then select Add page to add a page between two pages.
Or, go to the end of page thumbnails and select plus to add one after the last page.
Step 7 – Now click on the “Apps” tab in the side panel. Search for “Gen Portraits” and click on it to open the app.
Note: The app “Gen Portraits” uses AI to create customized portraits from uploaded photos or text prompts. It offers various artistic styles like realistic, cartoon, or fantasy, allowing for detailed personalization.
Step 8 – Follow the below prompts to apply the portrait effects to your photo. Click on the upload option, usually labeled “Upload your avatar” or “Choose file”. Upload your downloaded photo here.
Step 9 – Click the “Generate portrait art” button to process your photo. This might take a few seconds to a minute. It will generate the color splash portrait look like the below.
Step 10 – This should give your portraits a striking and unique color splash look!
Download the final image or share it directly on social platforms.
