A flyer is a single-page marketing tool used to promote products, services, events, or brands in a visually appealing and easy-to-digest format.
It’s smaller than a poster and designed to be easy to hand out or carry. It can be printed or shared digitally, making it a versatile way to grab attention and convey information effectively.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to design a flyer using Canva. Let’s take a look at the steps below.
Step 1: Open Canva and click on the Create New Design button, then select Flyer to create a new page. This will open a blank canvas in the editor. Here, I used 8.5 × 11 inches, which is 2550 × 3300 pixels at 300 DPI.
Step 2: Start the tutorial on designing a creative flyer for juices. Go to Elements > Shapes and click on a square.
Step 3: Let’s duplicate them or use CTRL + D to create two more squares, then change their colors to red, yellow, and green as below.
Step 4: Click and drag to select all three squares. Use the corner handles to adjust their size proportionally. Make sure they fit well within the canvas.
Now lets pull down the square boxes like below
Step 5: Next, go to the “Elements” tab on the left side of the Canva workspace. In the search bar, type “Strawberry juice in a glass” and press Enter. Elements > Photos > Strawberry juice in a glass.
Click on the image you want to use. The selected photo will be added to your design.
Step 6: Click on “Elements” from the left-hand menu Elements > Photos and type “Orange juice in a glass“.
Select a image/photo and let’s resize it.
Step 7: Click on “Elements” from the left-hand menu Elements > Photos and type “Kiwi juice in a glass“.
Select the suitable photo for your flyer design.
Step 8: Here I have selected the photo with background, but I only need the glass with juice. So select Edit image and choose BG Remover also known as Background Remover to remove the background of the juice image.
Step 9: Adjust all the juice glasses so that they have equal gaps between the color boxes, as shown below.
Step 10: Go to Elements > Graphics and type “Ripped Paper“
Select the Ripped Paper you want to implement into your design.
Change the Ripped Paper color into white color
Right-click on the Paper, go to Layer, and select Send backward
Step 11: Similarly, bring all the juice glasses to the front.
Step 12: Duplicate the ‘Ripped Paper’ or press CTRL + D, then change its color to blue.
Now move the blue ripped paper to the top of the design.
Step 13: Let’s search for a frame with an outline like the one shown below. Go to Elements > Frames, select a frame, then duplicate it, change its color, resize it, and place them in order like below.
Step 14: Go to Elements > Shapes and click on a circle.
Step 15: Duplicate it, change its color to white, and move them behind the three frame designs placed at the top of the design.
Step 16: Go to Elements > Photos and type “Strawberry“. Select two strawberry fruit pictures-one for the frame and the other to place near the juice glass.
Step 17 : Similarly, repeat the Step 16 process for both the orange and kiwi fruits.
Step 18: After placing the fruits in their appropriate place, the design will look like below.
Step 19: Go to Elements > Photos and search for ‘Juice Splash‘. Then, select the appropriate color splash images and place them on the juice glass to make it look like the juice is splashing from the glass. Repeat this process for all the juice glasses.
Step 20: Next, go to the “Elements” tab on the left side of the Canva workspace. In the search bar, type “Juice drips and drops” and press Enter. Elements > Graphics > Juice drips and drops. Choose the one you prefer and add it to your design.
Step 21: After adding the splashing and drip effects to the juice glasses, they will look like the image below.
Step 22: Now it’s time to add juice drops to the image in the frame. Add as many drops as you like based on your imagination. Here is the final output with the drops added to the image.
Now, let’s start designing the text.
Step 23: I used the font “Extenda 40 Hecto” with a size of 153 and the color – blue for the word “FRUIT,” making all the text uppercase. Additionally, I used the font “Lato” with a size of 52 and the color – green for the word “JUICE,” also in uppercase.
Step 24: I used the font “Breathing” with a size of 35.3 and the color – black for the word “Healthy“. Then, I slightly tilted the text for styling.
Step 25: We have reached the final stage of designing. To enhance the look, we will add a red bar button. Go to Elements, type ‘Button Bar,‘ and then click on Graphics. Select the red button you want to use in your design.
Step 26: Place the red button above the word “Healthy” and type “ORDER NOW” in uppercase using the font ‘Open Sans Extra Bold‘ with a size of 16 and the color – white.
Step 27: Here is the final design of the flyer.
