A brochure is a promotional document used to introduce a company, organization, product, or service and highlight its benefits. Brochures are detailed and informative. Originally a folded paper leaflet or pamphlet, brochures can also be digital or a set of documents in a pocket folder.
Depending on various aspects there are different types of brochures: Bi-Fold Brochures, Double parallel fold Brochures, Bi-Fold Brochures, Gate Fold Brochures, Trifold Brochures, and Z-Fold Brochures.
Let’s start our tutorial to learn how to create a Bi-Fold Brochure design in Canva.
Step 1: Open Canva and choose Bifold Brochure 11 * 8.5 in
Step 2: It will open a blank bi-fold brochure with dimensions of 11 × 8.5 inches.
Step 3: Go to the “Elements” tab on the left side of the canva workspace. In the search bar, type “candy” and press Enter. Elements > Graphics and click on a candy.
Step 4: Click on the candy image you want to use, and the selected photo will be added to your design. Here, I have selected two candy images: one in pink and the other in blue.
Step 5: Now, let’s resize them using the resize handles on the corners of the images to adjust their size.
Then move it and place it in the top left corner, as shown below.
Step 6: Click on “Elements” from the left-hand menu Elements > Graphics and type “Cotton Candy“.
Select an image of cotton candy that you like, and let’s resize it.
Step 7: Click on ‘Elements‘ from the left-hand menu, then go to Elements > Graphics and type ‘Lace circle frame‘. After that, resize it.
Then change the default pink color to blue for a fresh look.
Step 8: Now, I will add the company name ‘Sugary Bliss Candy‘ inside the lace circle frame using the ‘Stella‘ font with a size of 34, uppercase letters, letter spacing of 100, and line spacing of 1.15.
This should give you a similar look to the one shown below.
Step 8: Let’s duplicate the two candy images. Hold Shift on your keyboard and click both images to select them. Then, click the Duplicate icon or press CTRL + D on the toolbar to make a copy.
Step 9: Resize them and position them in their designated places.
Step 10: Go to Elements > Photos and type “candy“
Select your favorite candy photo. I have chosen the colorful candy shown below.
Let’s resize it and move it to the bottom left corner.
Step 11: To enhance the look of our brochure design, go to Elements > Shapes, select a circle, change its color, and resize it.
Step 12: Select the image, right-click on it, and choose ‘Layer.’ Then select ‘Send Backward‘ to move it one layer back, or ‘Send to Back‘ to move it to the bottom layer.
Here, I have moved the blue circle to the back, placing it on the bottom layer.
Step 13: I need to create background for our candy brochure. so go to the “Elements” tab on the left side of the Canva workspace. In the search bar, type “blue and pink watercolor background” and press Enter. Elements > Photos > blue and pink watercolor background.
Add the image to your design. Right-click on it, and select “Set Image as Background“.
Step 14: Repeat step-8 and duplicate the blue circle. Change the color of the newly created circle to white.
Step 15: Move the white circle behind the blue circle and position it like an arc, showing a little on the left and more on the right, similar to the image below.
Step 16: Go to the Elements tab on the side panel. Use the search bar at the top and type “Flower shapes” and press enter. Elements > Graphics and type “Flower shapes“
Select the flower shape you want to implement into your design and change the color into white.
Step 16: Repeat step-8 again. Then resize it and adjust the transparency slider to make the image partially see through to the background like below.

Step 17: Next, go to Elements > Shapes, select a circle, change its color to white, resize it, and adjust the transparency slider to 71. Then, place them in order as shown below.
Step 18: Go to Elements > Graphics and search for ‘Pink and blue candy‘. Then, select the appropriate candies for our brochure design. Here, I have selected two candies and placed them randomly.
Step 18: Now, let’s focus on the content and its design.
Step 18: Set the content text to the ‘Gaegu’ font, size 18, and apply bold formatting.
Step 18: Go to Elements > Graphics > Marshmallow candy and select the image you like. Adjust the size of the marshmallow candy image to make it small enough to act as a bullet point. Then, duplicate it and place one next to each line of text to maintain consistency.
Step 19: Go to Elements > Graphics and search for ‘Brushstroke‘. Choose the one you prefer and add it to your design. Here, I have selected two brushstrokes – one in a rectangle shape and the other in a circle shape. Now, let’s resize them and change both brushstroke colors to pink, as shown below.
Step 20: I used the font “TT Masters” with a size of 27 and the color – white for the word “SALE,” making all the text uppercase.
Additionally, I used the font ‘Gaegu’ with a size of 18 and a white color for the URL. I also used the same font with a size of 19 and white color for the sentence above the word ‘SALE‘.
Step 20: And with that, our bi-fold brochure design is complete! Check out the stunning final result below.
