Step 1
Open the image you want to manipulate in adobe Photoshop.
Step 2
Duplicate the image by going to Layer > Duplicate layer. Now go to Filter > Render > Lighting effects. Use the given settings.
Step 3
Now click on the icon of ‘create new fill or adjustment layer’ and select the option of ‘Hue/ Saturation’. Use the given settings here.
Step 4
Once again click on the icon of ‘create new fill or adjustment layer’ and choose ‘Brightness/Contrast’.
Step 5
Now create a new adjustment layer of ‘Color Balance’. Apply the given settings.
Step 6
Create new ‘solid color’ layer, select # 1000e4 color. Change the blending mode of this layer to ‘lighten’ and reduce its opacity to 40%.
Step 7
Create another ‘solid color’ layer, choose # 74645a color. Change the blending mode of this layer to ‘overlay’.
Step 8
Open the grunge texture file, press Ctrl+ A to make selection, then press Ctrl+ C to copy the selection, come back to your image file now and press Ctrl+ V to paste the texture here. You can resize the texture according to the image using ‘free transform tool (Ctrl+ T)’. Change the blending mode of texture layer to ‘overlay’ and place it just above the image layer.
Step 9
Open the butterfly vectors PNG file and make selection around the desired butterfly, copy and paste it in your image file, resize and reposition it using ‘free transform tool (Ctrl+ T)’. Paste few more in the same way. Place them below the texture layer.
Step 10
Now we’ll draw colorful shapes using ‘Pen tool’. So, select the ‘Pen tool’, click on the option of ‘shape layers’ from top options bar. Draw 3 basic shapes on separate new layers. Click on one of the shape layers and go to Layer > Layer style > Gradient overlay. Use the given settings.
Right click on this layer, select the option of ‘copy layer style’. Now right click on rest of the shape layers and choose ‘paste layer style’ to apply the same effect on them. Keep on duplicating these basic shapes and arrange them to form a nice sequence as shown below.
Step 11
Collect these shape layers in a group by selecting them, then go to Layer > Group layers. After that, go to Layer > Merge group. Duplicate this merged group and go to Edit > Transform > Flip vertical and then flip horizontally. Arrange it as shown below.
Now erase both of these shape layers over the girl’s body to give the impact that the sequence is passing in front of her. Use ‘hard round eraser tool’ for this.
Step 12
Collect both sequence layers in a group, merge it and duplicate that merged layer. Now drag this merged layer a bit downward and change its blending mode to ‘exclusion’.
