In this tutorial, we will be teaching how to apply a Tilt-Shift blur effect to an image.

Choose Filter > Blur > Tilt-Shift to open the image inside the Blur Gallery and view the new Properties panel.

Then the image appears with an active pin point at center between the solid and dashed lines.

The area between the solid lines remains completely in focus by default, while the boundary between the solid and dashed lines defines the starting of the feathering zone where the image becomes progressively blur. The image area outside the dashed lines is completely blurred, based on the settings in the Properties panel.

Once you have clicked the Tilt-Shift blur option it will automatically take the default value as below

To apply the blur effect at an angle, move the cursor over the white dots attached to the solid line. The values which I have used for the Tilt-Shift is given below

Here the protected area is clear where as the remaining area are blurred.

The progress bar will load & blur the image.
